In our latest Saar Blueprint, Edward Love analyzes the question of whether the alleged forcible transfer of children from Ukraine constitutes genocide through the lens of international law. The thesis examines various legal frameworks and case law, including the Genocide Convention, and scrutinizes the actions and policies implemented in the region. The study analyzes the evidence available in relation to the legal definitions and criteria of genocide, providing a critical and thorough assessment of the situation’s compliance with international legal standards. The author submitted this as his master’s thesis for the LL.M. program at the Europa-Institut of Saarland University.

Im neuesten Saar Blueprint geht Edward Love der Frage nach, ob es sich bei den berichteten Verschleppungen von Kindern aus der Ukraine um einen Genozid im Sinne des Völkerrechts handelt. Zunächst skizziert er die Regeln des Völkerrechts und deren Konkretisierung durch die Rechtsprechung internationaler Gerichte. Anschließend untersucht der Autor in seiner Masterarbeit, ob der Tatbestand des Genozids im völkerrechtlichen Sinne erfüllt ist.
